Starlings pose one of the largest threats to crop yields, as well as a significant threat to air travel. Starlings fly in flocks of thousands, and cause over a billion dollars’ worth of damage to crops in the United States each year. Using trained raptors is a tried and true method to keep starlings from feasting on crops such as cherries, grapes, blueberries, apples, and more. Since starlings fly in large flocks, there is little else besides a trained bird of prey which can effectively manage these pest birds.
